Provides a music notation syntax and a collection of music programming functions for generating, manipulating, organizing and analyzing musical information in R. The music notation framework facilitates creating and analyzing music data in notation form. Music data can be viewed, manipulated and analyzed while in different forms of representation based around different data structures: strings. Clips set to Re-Pitch change duration with project tempo changes, but also deviate upwards or downwards from their original pitch. It’s a cool effect! 6: Live’s MIDI Notes box has a Transpose control too – type note names, or a transposition value in semitones, or just click and drag up or down to re-pitch the currently selected notes. Logitech control center 3 9 8.
It still doesn't offer pitch and tempo processing in real time, and it's still pretty impenetrable in its implementation. Recently, Apple have included new pitch and tempo manipulation algorithms into Tiger alongside AUPitch, a real-time pitch-changing plug-in. Logic can utilise these new algorithms in the Time Machine as well as AUPitch. Audio Pitch and Shift offers some commands to change pitch and speed. The BPM is displayed when a file is loaded and it makes the change easier. There are also other effects that can be applied such as reverb, distortion and many more. It is possible to work on WAV, WMA and MP3 files.

It's over 500 pages.. I have a need to to do time stretching 'now' though. Can find 'nothing' in the table of contents about it (but could have easily missed it).. a document search only mentioned it on page 9. Nothing about 'how' to do it. So maybe it's called something else? Did find tempo mapping and pitch shift after I posted. but still not finding anything about 'time stretch'.. Unfortunately, that's the thing I need right now.. |

Perhaps it'll help if I say what I'm trying to do. I started learning a song consisting of three solos from a instructional guitar DVD last winter. Got the whole thing nailed except for the last 8 bars. The soloing got really fast using a couple techniques outside my wheel house during the very last 8 bars. I wanted to slow the whole song down (in pitch) by say 20-25%, and then just get the whole thing perfect, gradually speeding it up to even faster than real time as I got better and better with it, so that in the end it would be 'easy' for me at full speed.. I downloaded Tracktion and tried to do it in that, as it was supposed to support time stretch, but in reality, it did it through a plug in, that was either not available or not free (was confused on what exactly the deal was as the website info was not well written), and eventually gave up on the whole song.. So now, that I have two other DAWs installed on my PC, I'd like to take another crack at it. What I'd really like is to be able to select a file and just time stretch it in pitch. But maybe I have to figure out a hack? Like maybe tempo map the whole song with a beginning and end marker? then set target markers for it to match reflecting the new length? Would that work? Maybe I'm misunderstanding how this whole time stretch thing works. I was hoping to be able to just process a file to the new length. The last time I was doing this DAW stuff was around 2004-5 (DP4), and such technology didn't exist yet (that I can remember) or if it did it was either some expensive thing (ie Pro Tools) or I was completely unaware of it. Thanks, Mark |

Thanks, mark Just noticed your screen shots. That appears to be exactly what I'm looking for! Where in the menus do I find that? and in the manual.. Getting close now! Thanks, Mark Found it! When I used just the term 'stretch' the result came up. It's called TimeFX.. Now I'm on the right path! Thanks muchly! Mark |
